    CHAIR’S REPORT
    WELCOME REMARKS

  1. Ladies and gentleman, school Head and SDA/members/welcome you to the first general meeting of 2012.I pray that our discussion will lead into agreeing to take Zimre Primary School forward.

Introduction
Our main thrust as we came into office in September 2012,was to adopt the excellent road map set by the Mushawedu led executive in developing and providing a child friendly learning environment.
Contextual Framework
Ladies and gentleman, the conceptualization of academic excellent varies from people to people. For example, it may be conceived as achievement in leaner performance, in teacher performance, extra-curricular work, excellence in general behavior of both staff and students, unitary concept but a multi-dimensional one.It must be noted that commitment to achieving academic excellent is not the singular duty of any identifiable group or persons but a collective responsibility of all stakeholders in the school system.
The parents/guardians and community
The parents and guardians have special role in development of school. It is every parents/guardians responsibility to ensure that the school is support. You can support the school by paying your children’s fees and levies in time, by coming to meetings like this one etc. The viability of running the school depends so much on what you do for the school including giving constructive contribution for the development of the school.
Achievements
Your committee has to date:

  1. Procured a duplicator which has made life easily for the school in typing and printing of exam question papers. Machine has capacity to print more than 100 copies in a minute awesome.
  2. ECD classes have been furnished through parent’s initiative of a buy a chair campaign. The committee has bought tables and chairs for the ECD classrooms
  3. ECD play Centre has been installed and secured with a perimeter fence for easy supervision of kids and safe keep from abuse by elder children
  4. Block 11 is now at slab level. Progress has been slow since school has been hit by shortage of water.

What’s still needs to be done.
In as much as we want to eradicate hot sitting, there are two more areas that need serious consideration

  1. Children’s travel to and from sports and educational tours.
  2. Head’s and administration travel to meetings, sports coaching clinics, banks, procurement etc.

Ladies and gentleman remember what the PED said in his projects commissioning speech and I quote ‘’hazvingoita kuti chikoro chakaita seZimre chishaiwe mota mukuru wechikoro achifamba nemalift’’
As we converse to find common ground on projects for next term, I hope and pray that we put our priorities right and consider safety of both our children and staff as they move around representing our mighty community.

Conclusion
I would like to thank you once again for coming to this general meeting. Please do respect the house rules and avoid repeating the same asked question so we can finish our meeting within stipulated time. Ladies and gentleman welcome.
